According to the International Menopause Society (IMS), most women have their last period between the ages of 45 and 55, some a little earlier or later and 1 to 2% before the age of 40. There are also cases of surgical menopause.
The climacteric period is divided into different phases: Premenopause, perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause. Together they cover half of our lives and each woman experiences them in a different way.
